Summary of Curriculum Vitae
Konstantina Nika is Assistant Professor in the Laboratory of Biological Chemistry of the University of Patras since 2015. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Portsmouth, UK. She completed her doctorate at the University of Portsmouth, and was a postdoctoral researcher at the Burnham Institute for Medical Research, San Diego, CA and Sir William Dunn School of Pathology at the University of Oxford. Her research team, currently numbering 4 members, is studying the regulatory pathways of activation of T and B lymphocytes and their deregulation in hematologic malignancies. The results of her research have been published in peer-reviewed international journals (Immunity, Blood Advances, EMBO, Journal of Biological Chemistry, etc.) and have received over 3500 citations. Her research work at the University of Patras is supported by funding from the K. Karatheodori Program, the Asklepeios Program, Gilead (2016 and 2017) and Fondation Santé Biomedical Research grants (2018). She teaches Biochemistry to undergraduate medical students and in postgraduate programs: “Biomedical Sciences – Department of Medicine”, “Medical Physics – Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program” and “Biomedical Engineering”. She is supervising the thesis of undergraduate students of the Department of Biology and of postgraduate students of the Department of Medicine.
