Descriptive Statistics (extrema, quartiles, absolute and relative frequencies, measures of central tendency and dispersion, graphical representation), Elements of Probability Theory (probability, conditional probability, Bayes theorem, sensitivity and specificity with applications, binomial, Poisson and normal distribution), Inferential statistics (Sampling distribution, Central limit theorem, Null hypothesis, significance level, z-test, t-test, paired measurements, non-parametric tests, chi-squared test), Regression & Correlation.

Objectives

To provide MP students with both the theoretical aspects of Biostatistics and Inferential Statistics and hands-on experience of real-data analysis using SPSS and Excel.
